The story
Rhea would rather spend her days alone in her swampside cottage, tending to her garden, visiting with the local pixies, and generally keeping her witch status under wraps. Ever since the kingdom denounced witchcraft, the Church of Light hunted down her kind, so she made it easier on everyone else by minding her own business. The only problem with that plan was that no one else seemed to agree with her.
When a knight comes knocking at her gate asking her for help in solving a local mystery, she should have sent him away or turned him into a toad. Teddy’s relentless curiosity and boundless energy would not have made for a good amphibian though, and transforming him into a furry four-legged friend would have spent far too much of her power. If she was in the habit of being honest with herself, Rhea would admit her interest in learning the fate of a string of kidnappings happening as of late. Local authorities have nothing on the victims, so Teddy decided to turn to a higher power. Which is where the witch comes in.
Helping Teddy is a ludicrous plan, especially as most suspect Rhea as the culprit herself. But mysteries are tempting things especially when paired with those ominous words ‘what’ and ‘if’. It will take all of Rhea’s knowledge of the world and the arcane to read between the lines, to solve this puzzle, and worst of all, to make small talk. Ancestors help her!
